Playing in a Browser

This is an area that has seen some rapid improvements over the last few years. One of the main drivers for this has been online casinos. Although there have been a lot of top-level browser-based games over the years, a lot of them required Flash. Some of the most prominent online casinos have moved away from using Flash as a base for browser games and utilized JavaScript and HTML5 more frequently.  This created an influx of new-generation browser games. These games weren’t just of higher quality, as a lot of the limitations of Flash were sidestepped, but they were also compatible across several other devices. So, no longer do you have to worry about being unable to play a game on a mobile device. Casino games, as well as other browser-based games, can be played on both desktop and mobile devices without any problems.  This has significantly increased the level of gaming that’s available to players without a top-tier PC that has the latest processors in place. However, for players who want their games to be a little bit more complex and visually impressive, these titles might not offer what they want. There’s no need to worry though as there are solutions for that problem.  The first solution centers on emulation. While there are a lot of different emulators on the market, there are some that take up quite a lot of computing power. For example, if you want to use a PS2 emulator, then you need to have a decent PC behind it to offer the power needed. This is mainly due to the architecture of the PS2 differing from that of a PC, so it takes more power to do what the PS2 could do on a PC. This might seem like all is lost for players. However, browsers are coming to the rescue again. There are several different browser-based emulators available now that give players the opportunity to enjoy whole generations of games without needing a super-powerful PC to do so. It means that more games than ever before can be enjoyed on almost any computer.  Also, Read: Top 5 Best Android Emulators for Windows in 2021 Of course, to do this legally, you will have to dump and host your ROMs on your own server. However, this isn’t too much of an issue and it will speed up the overall playing of these titles. The second way to enjoy games is through Xbox Game Pass. There is a current beta feature in place with Game Pass that allows for cloud gaming to take place. This means that players can use cloud computing to run some of the more intensive games on the market. While the mode is still in beta and doesn’t have full access to the Game Pass library at the moment, there are still some great titles available here. Of course, mentioning the Game Pass brings us to another way to play without a top-class PC.

Consoles

Playing on a console gives instant access to a range of modern games. While it is normally accepted that the superior experience is available on PC, if you can’t afford the best PC on the market, then a console could be the most affordable way for you to enjoy new releases.  In terms of being cost-effective, the Xbox Series X is arguably the best value for money out of Sony and Microsoft’s offerings. With Game Pass, players can enjoy a huge range of modern games at a low price. While Sony does have its own version of this service, what it has to offer is significantly below what Game Pass has available.  Despite this, both consoles do offer a much more cost-effective way of playing modern games when compared to a top-of-the-range gaming PC. What’s also important to remember is that both the PS5 and Xbox Series X have cheaper (albeit with slightly reduced power) versions available to gamers. It means that if the full-power version of the console costs too much, then there is a way to still enjoy the games.  Of course, Game Pass has its cloud gaming version available, which does make it a more rounded offer. What’s also impressive about Game Pass is that it can be used on both mobile and PC as well as Xbox. There are some games on PC that you won’t find on the Xbox version and vice versa. So, if you want to play Fallout 2, then you will have to move over to the PC version of Game Pass.

Mobile Gaming

Mobile gaming is something that has grown at a fast rate in the last 10 years. Players have access to far more games than ever before and the visuals and gameplay on these titles have improved at a rapid rate. Mobile gaming is currently the largest market in the gaming world, such as the growth it has undergone.  While a lot of the games available on mobile devices are freemium and casual games, there are some titles that almost hit triple-A standards. This means that if you have a relatively powerful device, you can still enjoy high-quality gaming even on your mobile device. A great example of this is Asphalt 9: Legends, which has top-class graphics and fast-paced gameplay. Even on mobile, this title is well worth trying out and it won’t cost anything to do so.  Also, Read: What are the Most Important Things to Consider When Building a PC?
